Aoife Concannon is a creative producer and socially engaged artist based in Dublin.
 
My artist-led work is interdisciplinary, with the written and spoken word, audio-visual and traditional practices of painting, and drawing being of particular interest.

I am interested in collaboration, connection and communication - between individuals, community groups and the natural world. My work is primarily process led, and contains both symbolic and performative output, as well as workshop-based participation.
 
My current project EveryBODY examines personal narrative through the physical bodily experience using storytelling, mark-making and alternative explorations of (self) portraiture. Through funding from Arts Council Ireland,  the work has developed into explorations of the maternal experience, working with groups of perinatal women exploring their bodily experiences through testimonial and creative means. 

 

My own visual art practice is in Painting (largely abstract or expressive painting) and Photography.

Aside from my own practice, I also work with organisations and artists as a Creative Producer.

Currently my work in this area is largely with Improvised Music Company.

I am a qualified Yoga Practitioner and incorporate this training into my social art practice.
